2100 sodium light bulbs to illuminate Haldwani launched by MP Ajay Bhat and Mayor Dr Jogendra Rautela

Ajay Bhatt, the Bhartiya Janata Party member of parliament from Nainital and Dr Jogendra Rautela the Mayor Municipal Corporation of Haldwani jointly launched the 21000 sodium light bulbs that will be fitted in the Municipal corporation limits and have been procured at a cost of about Rs 27 crore (26.85 crore) in Haldwani on Monday.
In his address, MP Nainital Ajay Bhat said that sodium light will reduce electricity bills and the city will shine bright at night. He said, “It is the endeavour of our Government that whatever schemes are being run, the benefits of those schemes reach the last person.”
Mayor Dr. Rautela said, “It is a government of India undertaking. The work of installation of sodium light is being done by EESL company. He said that in the first phase, 21000 lights will be installed in the city. These lights have been contracted for seven years by the company. He said sodium light will reduce the consumption of electricity by 50 per cent and the work will be completed within two to three months. He said that during any damage to the lights common man also can give information about it on toll free number. Dr. Rautela said that at present, installation of sodium lights will be done in the new wards under Municipal Corporation.
