Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Greets People on Foundation Day

Raipur, 1st Nov. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday greeted the people on the state’s foundation day.

Our Chhattisgarh is full of energy and self-confidence, he said. By channelizing its energy in the right direction, we have to make Chhattisgarh an ideal state. Baghel said that the state government is moving ahead strongly with the resolution of Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh.

Steps have been taken to preserve and promote the culture of Chhattisgarh as well as implement a smooth governance system. He said that the state government has given benefits of water, forest and land to the local people by giving forest rights lease, tendu patta bonus and fair price of forest produce.

He said that new administrative units have been formed for development to reach every person in every nook and corner of the state. Strengthening the rural economy is one of the priorities of the government, so that people can get better employment near their homes. For this purpose, Suraji Gaon Yojana and Godhan Nyay Yojana were launched.

Baghel said that more than 2.5 lakh villagers, farmers and women are getting benefited by the purchase of cow dung at Rs 2 per kg and manufacturing of organic manure. Expanding the Godhan Nyay scheme, the work of generating electricity from cow dung has also been started.

Along with providing financial assistance to farmers through Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, input subsidy is also being given along with loan waiver. The Chief Minister said that like last year, this year also the input assistance amount would be distributed.

An assistance amount of Rs 5,702 crore is to be given to about 22 lakh farmers in four installments. Its third installment is being given on the state’s foundation day. In order to further the empowerment of women, the timeless loans given to SHGs from the Mahila Kosh have been waived off to the tune of about Rs 13 crore and their loan limit has also been increased so that women can start their work afresh.
