Chief Minister Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat launched the operation of electric buses under smart city during a function held at al Sansthan office at Dilaram Chowk. The chief minister said that the electric bus will reduce pollution and it will also facilitate easy travel for the people of Dehradun. He said that the launch is a good start under smart city project. He flagged off 5 electric buses by showing the green flag.
These buses plying in smart cities have 25 seats for the public and space for the disabled persons to put wheelchairs. The electric bus has front and rear air suspension facility. It is air-conditioned, fitted with GPS System, has 3 CCTV cameras, automatic transmission and ITS Display.Each seat has the facility of USB port, emergency button, emergency hammer, fire extinguishers and regeneration system.
Tehri Garhwal MP Mala Rajlaxmi Shah, Mayor Dehradun Sunil Uniyal Gama, MLA Harbanas Kapoor, MLA Vinod Chamoli, MLA Ganesh Joshi and CEO Smart city and District Magistrate Dehradun Dr. Ashish Srivastava were present on the occasion.
