CM Narayanasamy And Colleagues Resign, Blames BJP

V Narayanasamy resigns as CM and faults ‘BJP govt at Center’, AIADMK for dislodging govt which calls for Puducherry political emergency.

In spite of the fact that Narayanasamy moved the motion looking for the confidence vote in the Assembly, he and his ruling side MLAs later left before the movement was put for voting. The Puducherry government led by Chief Minister V Narayanasamy imploded on Monday notwithstanding its exhausted strength of 11 MLAs against the Opposition’s count of 14.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy presented his resignation to Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan in the wake of leaving the Assembly in dissent in front of the trust vote. He said, “A government elected by the people has been toppled by the BJP, NR Congress and the AIADMK. In the coming elections, the people of Puducherry will teach the Opposition parties a lesson.”

Puducherry Assembly Elections are tentative to be held in the month of April or May this year.

Talking during the special Puducherry Assembly meeting called to hold a floor test, the CM said the government was framed with the help from the DMK and Independent MLAs. “After that, we faced various elections. We have won all the by-elections. It is clear that people of Puducherry trust us,” he further said.

He proceeded to say that previous L-G Kiran Bedi and the Center connived with the Opposition and attempted to overturn the government. “As our MLAs remained joined together, we figured out how to pull off the most recent five years. The Center has double-crossed individuals of Puducherry by not conceding supports we mentioned,” he said.

The emergency in Puducherry started on 25 January after oublic works department minister A Namassivayam offered his resignation not long after being suspended from Congress for ‘anti party’ exercises. Afterward, MLA E Theepaindan likewise left his post. The two later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Two more MLAs, Congress part K Lakshminarayanan and DMK’s K Venkatesan, resigned on Sunday, conveying one more shock to the Narayanasamy government.
